The Jarrettsville Federal Blog

We want to congratulate Nancy Dorn on her graduation from the Harford Leadership Academy (HLA).  This rigorous program is a 13-week course designed to expose participants to the challenges of the community and the resources available to meet those challenges, as well as develop a valuable network of contacts that can help in leading individual communities to successful programs.   HLA reinforces leadership skills and motivates participants to make a difference in the community through both their professional and personal lives. It is not only a privilege to be chosen for the Academy, it is an honor to graduate.

Nancy’s graduation makes her the third Jarrettsville Federal manager to complete the program.  Both John Reale, Vice President/Commercial Lending, and I are graduates of the program.  We are three of only 850 local business people to earn this honor.  What makes this so special?  We’ve gained skills and ideas that we can bring to the Jarrettsville community, and the benefits of our different perspectives will help us to better serve our customers.  Not only can we help you manage your finances, we can provide resources for you in the community-at-large that will make a difference. Here are a few of the sessions we have all experienced at HLA:

  • Harford County History and How Government Works

  • Economic Development and Planning for the Future

  • Emergency Response

  • Volunteerism and Personal Visioning

  • Aberdeen Proving Ground Resources

From each of these, we can translate the vision of our community into actions that will make it a reality.  We hope you’ll join us in our efforts.
