One of Jarrettsville Federal’s long-standing traditions is to give back to the community. The people who live and work in our area are our valued customers, and we take every opportunity to help them. You’ll see our team members supporting events around town and volunteering at their local non-profit organizations. You’ll see Jarrettsville Federal supporting schools, libraries and fund raisers throughout the community as we are able to. Here are just a few of our efforts:

Jarrettsville Federal Savings and Loan ranked in the top tier of banks nationwide for its outstanding community involvement, as determined by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).  The branch was given a rating of “Outstanding,” which is bestowed on only select banks.  Only 17 percent of banks nationwide have earned that rating.  The designation is part of the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 (CRA), which requires assessment of a bank’s record of helping to meet the credit needs of the communities it serves.  Banks are evaluated every five years.

“This is a great achievement for Jarrettsville Federal, because it rings true to our mission as a community bank.  We are a mutual bank, which means our focus is always on the customer, not on stockholders.  This allows us to be involved where our customers live and work – in the Jarrettsville and surrounding communities,” explained Gary Barnoff.

The CRA rankings are based on the regulator’s assessment of a number of factors, including loans for building within the community, the participation in and support of community services and loan investment or service in the bank’s region.
